Appalachian Trail Fitness Challenge
Monday, February 4 - Friday, March 15
This six week simulated challenge will start at Mount Katahdin in Maine and end at Springer Mountain
in Georgia. Over the six weeks you will be challenged as if you were climbing the trail. Workouts
will be provided each week focusing on climbing, hiking and building strength and conditioning to
complete this mission. Workouts will be performed at John H. Chafee Fitness Center and/or outside
if you wish. Weekly progress will be added onto the trail map displayed at the fitness center.
Registration will begin Monday, January 28, 2019.
This MWR event is open to active duty personnel, retirees, reservists, eligible family
members and DoD civilians with base access.
