Newport - Coasters Harbor Island Marina
Winter berthing will be available at the Coasters Harbor Island Marina from November 1, 2023 through April 30, 2023. Patrons who participate in winter berthing will have the option to receive 10% off their seasonal summer berthing the following year or patrons who are not eligible for retained rights berthing can be placed at the top of their prospective waiting lists for the following summer season.
Applications for winter berthing are available at the marina office, Building 1397, Reservations for winter berthing will be contingent upon completion of a Winter Boat Berthing and Hold Harmless Agreement. Additionally, patrons proof of ownership of the vessel (application must prove at least 51% ownership of the vessel), current registration or Coast Guard documentation, and a copy of your comprehensive and liability (minimum of $100,000 in Hull and Machinery coverage, $300,000 in Personal Injury, and $500,000 in Property Insurance) vessel insurance issued in the name of the primary owner with your completed application.
FISHING AT NAVAL STATION NEWPORT
In order to fish on base, you must have a RI Saltwater fishing license, go to https://rio.ri.gov/ to print one (free for active duty personnel). You must also have a base fishing license, call Environmental at (401) 841-7607. Licenses are only available Monday-Friday 7 a.m.-2:30 p.m. (no holidays) located in Building 1 CC.
THERE IS NO FISHING AT THE NAVSTA PIERS, VEHICLE BRIDGES OR AT COASTERS HARBOR ISLAND MARINA.
This MWR facility is open to Active-duty personnel, Reservists, Retirees, Dependents, Veterans, DoD civilians, and Contractors with valid ID & base access. MWR has gone cashless, all major credit cards are accepted.
