Newport - Coasters Harbor Island Marina

Berthing rates for 2024 are $111/per foot (Active-duty personnel/Retired) and $129/per foot (DoD civilians). The seasonal mooring rate is $1,339 (Active-duty/Retired) and $1,560 (DoD civilians).

Applicants who currently have retained rights: 50% of fee must be received by 2/20/24, 100% by 3/22/24.

Active-duty applicants: 100% of fee must be received by 3/22/24.

 

2024 Season brochure will be out in April.  Reservations for rentals, sailing & powerboat classes will start after season opening on May 1.
 
 
 
 

TO FISH ON NAVAL STATION NEWPORT YOU MUST HAVE: A valid ID & base access. An appropriate state license for freshwater and/or saltwater fishing, to obtain a RI state license visit: https://rio.ri.gov (this is free for Active-duty personnel) – patron will enter CAC information on site and the fee is waived.  You must also have a NAVSTA Newport license for fishing.  To obtain a NAVSTA license 
go to the: The Natural Resource program manager at the environments department located at Building 1/Telephone: 401-841-7607, Monday - Friday 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (no holidays or weekends).There is no fee for the base-fishing license.

ADDITONAL POLICIES FOR FISHING ON BASE: An adult angler in possession of both a NAVSTA Newport and RI freshwater or saltwater fishing license must accompany person under the age of 16 years old.  Fishing license is not required for minors under 16 years old, any blind person or any disabled veteran.  Each NAVSTA license shall be valid for a period thru December 31 of the issuing year.  Line fishing is the only authorized method for fishing on NAVSTA Newport.

• Site 24 DFSP Melville

 

This MWR facility is open to Active-duty personnel, Reservists, Retirees, Dependents, Veterans, DoD civilians, and Contractors with valid ID & base access.  MWR has gone cashless, all major credit cards are accepted.
